Urban Threads

Recently I found a new Embroidery website-Urban Threads!  I can't say I love them enough!!  I have been going nuts looking at all their cool designs and of course trying a few of them out.  They have machine and hand embroidery as well as stock art.  Right now they are having an anniversary sale too, so jump on board!

Here are a few cards I made using their designs.

These were embroidered on paper.  For the Love card I used tear away stabilizer, but didn't tear it away after and for the bird I just used a paper bag with no stabilizer.  Hoop the paper just as you would your fabric and have fun!

I also made a patch to apply to my kid's school sweatshirt.  Now I can show our school pride and have an identity!!

Baby Shower Gift

A friend of mine is having a baby boy!!  So for her shower gift I embellished a bunch of onsies.

My favorite one is the mom tattoo.

Then I made a gift bag that can be used as a toy holder, I saw the idea on Make It and Love It, see tutorial here..

I also made a reusable gift tag to match!

Cataract Surgery

Oh how I love my dog!  She is such an amazing light in our family's life.  I had a post on her a few weeks back, we adopted her knowing she was blind and diabetic.  However since we have had her, she has undergone cataract surgery.  Now my once totally blind pup can see over 90% out of one eye and 100% out of the other!!!  I am so thankful to the Vets at Veterinary Vision in San Francisco.  Our little Razzie now has the most beautiful brown eyes and her sweet, spunky personality is coming through more and more each day.

Razzie Before-A little unsure of herself

Razzie After-The life of the Party!!
 Driving in the car
 Rolling around on the grass
Playing with the kids!
The surgery was so worth it, our Razzie is so full of life now and so happy!  She looks you right in the eye and follows you with her eyes-something she was never able to do before!   Bringing happiness to an animal can only be described as pure joy!

Pick Your Plum

Wow, it's been awhile since I've blogged.  That virus took a lot out of me, it was very frustrating thinking that the virus came from my blog or was attached to my blog.  The blogger people said it could have come from some of the html links that I've added, like the buttons from other blogs-yikes!  That makes me sad and of course I am  now very cautious to add anything more.  Thank you to those who have continued to stop by while I figure this out.  I think I will continue to blog, but my site might not have as much bling!

Today I just wanted to give a little shout out for Pick Your Plum.  I found out about it on Make It and Love It.  Pick Your Plum offers a new craft item everyday at ridiculously low prices and it is all awesome stuff with really low shipping.  I get a new email everyday for what the deal is, but you have to get up early because once the stuff is gone-it's gone.  Being on the West Coast means that it might be gone before I can check my email, but I think that is kind of fun!  I've picked up some awesome 1" rick rack and washi tape for cheap, cheap, cheap!!  This site is also great because they give a little link for ideas on how to use the product of the day!
